What we do
We are persuaded that those who are in need of aid today have something to give, something to offer the world.
Our task is therefore simple,
to help individuals and communities in need to transit from passive aid recipients to productive and successful world citizens!
Our approach is equally simple, we
- help those who provide aid to do so in a manner which meets agreed minimum standards, using the most appropriate methods within the various contexts
- bring together practitioners to share experience and knowledge with beginners or among themselves on both humanitarian aid and livelihoods programming
- lead the way by teaching man to fish! We do livelihoods practicum with the most disadvantaged/communities at risk of extreme poverty
- realise without good policies, poverty cannot be addressed – so we do policy advocacy with governments at all levels, in particular, gender-budgeting, good governance, etc
- adapt to new approaches
The CLHS people believe in people and ideas, we are open to new ideas of solving the world’s problems, achieving development goals. We promote creativity and innovation.
Perhaps we need to emphasise, we arent big at all, we need everybody’s help to help the few we can. You are our major partner, if you do nothing we are done!
